Chamber Awards Three Area Seniors with Annual Scholarships

New Lenox, IL (May 31, 2016) — The New Lenox Chamber of Commerce was thrilled to award its annual scholarships to area students from Lincoln-Way Central High School, Lincoln-Way West High School, and Providence Catholic High School.

This year’s honorees were Abby Gorecki from Lincoln-Way Central High School, Mattie Taylor from Lincoln-Way West High School, and Brendan O’Hara from Providence Catholic High School. Each student received a check in the amount of $500.

The Chamber’s Scholarship Selection Team reviewed a number of qualified applications before making their selections. The New Lenox Chamber of Commerce President Gary Fouts, The Grounds Guys of New Lenox, shared, “The caliber of applications we receive is outstanding. The committee was thoroughly impressed by this year’s applicants. We are proud to honor these three students.”

The Chamber is built on a foundation of unity and committed to community involvement. As the unifying voice for more than 325 business and organization leaders, the Chamber commends this year’s scholarship recipients on their academic achievements and contributions to the greater New Lenox community.

“Abby, Mattie and Brendan are fantastic examples of the young people in our area. Not only are they amazing students, but all three have strong extracurricular involvement and great community spirit. It’s an honor to be a part of their academic journey,” said Emily Johnson, Chamber CEO.
