It's the most SPOOK-tacular time of the year! In 1967 the NLCC hosted its first Halloween costume contest. Since then the event has grown into a true community event with trunk-or-treat, pumpkin decorating, and of course, the costume contest.
The COVID-19 pandemic has impacted many events for the Chamber, including Halloween Fest. In order to provide a safe and distanced way to celebrate the season, the Chamber and Village are partnering together for our first Scarecrow Stroll and One-Stop Trick-or-Treating.
Scarecrow Stroll
We encourage you to visit the New Lenox Village Commons this October to view a trail of scarecrows, each created by a local business or organization. The scarecrows will be on display from Saturday, October 24 - Sunday, November 1, 2020.
One-Stop Trick-or-Treating
On October 31 from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m., join us at Scarecrow Stroll for a low-contact way to trick-or-treat for Halloween. After strolling through the Commons to view all of the scarecrows on display, visit our trick-or-treating station located in front of the Village Hall. The Village of New Lenox and the New Lenox Chamber of Commerce will provide a bag of candy for each trick-or-treater. Be sure to wear your costume! A set for photos of your trick-or-treaters will also be available.
Interested in sponsoring a scarecrow display? Download the registration form and return the the NLCC office by October 14.
